Public support from individuals and organizations is key to understanding that an End to the AIDS epidemic in Washington State is possible. Increased conversation helps break down stigma, which supports healthy behaviors in treatment access and adherence as well as HIV testing. Ultimately, these actions lead to improved health for people living with HIV or AIDS and the spread of fewer infections. We hope you find these resources easy to use.

The purpose of the End AIDS Washington blog is to share information on Washington State’s efforts to reducing HIV infections by 50% by 2020. We will hear from interested residents, public health partners, communities, and health care providers how we can achieve this goal through the strategies of Get Tested, Get Insured, Get PrEP, and Get Treatment. The blog will highlight exciting collaborations and initiatives and provide thoughtful commentary on what it will take to end AIDS in Washington State.

The audience for the blog is people touched by HIV and AIDS, whether it’s through policy, planning, activism, healthcare, or community work. Each blog post may have a more specific target audience depending on topic.

Governor Inslee’s proclamation is an exciting step forward for everyone living with and impacted by HIV or AIDS in Washington State. Join organizations and advocates statewide in sending a message of thanks to the Governor for his commitment to the health of people living with HIV and for launching the campaign that will cut our infection rate by 50% and reduce disparities in health outcomes.

Thank you for your commitment to End AIDS in Washington State. This is a powerful demonstration of our state’s commitment to the almost 14,000 people living with HIV in Washington and so many more who are impacted and at risk. I’m proud that Washington is at the forefront of collaborative, strategic efforts to improve access to healthcare, improve the health of Washingtonians, reduce health disparities, and bring an end to this epidemic. I support the effort to make an End to AIDS in Washington a reality!
